Terms & Conditions.
Terms & Conditions | The Scottsdale Prenatal Massage
Welcome! Thank you for choosing The Scottsdale Prenatal Massage. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive massage experience throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Please review the following policies and acknowledgments before your appointment.
Appointments & Late Arrivals
Please arrive approximately 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment so you have time to settle in before your session.
If you arrive late, your massage may need to be shortened to avoid impacting the next client's appointment. The full service fee will still apply.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
I understand that plans can change, and I am happy to accommodate rescheduling whenever possible.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made at least 24 hours before the beginning of your appointment will not incur a fee.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment and no-shows are subject to a charge of 100% of the scheduled service fee.
If you are experiencing illness, pregnancy-related symptoms, or a change in your health that may affect whether massage is appropriate, please contact me as soon as possible. Your safety is more important than the cancellation policy, and we can discuss the best option for your appointment.
The cancellation policy does not apply to Labor Induction Massage appointments.
Health & Pregnancy Disclosure
Massage therapy is intended to support relaxation, comfort, wellness, stress reduction, pain relief, and general therapeutic benefits. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice from your physician, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider.
Because pregnancy and postpartum recovery can involve changing health considerations, please provide accurate and complete information about your health and pregnancy that may be relevant to receiving massage.
You agree to notify me before your appointment if there has been a significant change in your health, pregnancy, or postpartum recovery since your last visit.
If you have a medical condition, pregnancy complication, or other circumstance that may make massage inappropriate or require additional medical guidance, you may be asked to obtain clearance or guidance from your healthcare provider before receiving massage.
If I have reasonable cause to believe that a condition is outside the scope of massage therapy or that massage may be contraindicated, I may decline or modify the session and recommend that you consult an appropriate healthcare professional.
Massage Therapy & Client Acknowledgment
I understand that massage therapy involves physical contact and manipulation of the body's soft tissues and may include techniques such as compression, stretching, range-of-motion work, hydrotherapy, and the therapeutic application of heat, cold, or topical products.
I understand that massage may result in temporary soreness, tenderness, fatigue, dizziness, changes in blood pressure, skin sensitivity, or other unexpected physical responses.
I understand that pregnancy and postpartum recovery involve individual medical considerations and that massage therapy cannot guarantee a particular physical or pregnancy-related outcome.
I agree to communicate openly during my session and to let my massage therapist know if pressure, positioning, temperature, or any technique causes discomfort or if I wish for a technique to be stopped or modified.
Client Responsibility & Liability Acknowledgment
I confirm that I have provided accurate and complete information about my health, pregnancy, and any other circumstances that may be relevant to receiving massage therapy.
I understand the nature of massage therapy and the potential risks described above, and I voluntarily choose to receive massage therapy.
To the extent permitted by applicable Arizona law, I agree to assume the ordinary and inherent risks associated with receiving massage therapy and to release The Scottsdale Prenatal Massage from claims arising solely from those ordinary and inherent risks, except to the extent that liability cannot legally be waived.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive or limit any responsibility or liability that cannot legally be waived under Arizona law.
Communication During Your Session
Your comfort and safety are important. Please communicate openly about pressure, positioning, temperature, pain, discomfort, or anything else that would make you more comfortable.
You may ask to stop or modify any technique at any time.
Payment & Gratuity
Payment is due at the time of service.
All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
Gratuity is never expected but is always appreciated.
Labor Induction Massage
Labor Induction Massage is intended for clients who are 38 weeks pregnant or later.
This service incorporates massage techniques and acupressure intended to support relaxation and may include the use of essential oils.
Labor Induction Massage does not guarantee the onset of labor or any particular pregnancy or birth outcome.
Because every pregnancy is different, clients should discuss any medical concerns or questions regarding labor, induction, or the use of massage during late pregnancy with their healthcare provider.
The standard cancellation policy does not apply to Labor Induction Massage appointments.
Privacy
Information you provide about your health, pregnancy, and massage sessions will be treated as private and used for purposes related to providing your services, communicating with you, and maintaining appropriate business records.
Agreement to These Terms
By booking an appointment and signing the Client Agreement & Liability Acknowledgment, you confirm that you have had an opportunity to review these Terms & Conditions, understand the policies described above, and agree to follow them.
If you have questions about these policies or whether massage is appropriate for you, please contact The Scottsdale Prenatal Massage before your appointment.
