Available beginning at 38 weeks.
Techniques for Labor Preparation
Labor induction massage combines several techniques specifically chosen for the final weeks of pregnancy. Your session is personalized to how you're feeling and what your body needs that day.
-
Targeted massage helps relieve the tension and discomfort that can build up during the final weeks of pregnancy. We can focus on areas like the low back, hips, glutes, legs, and feet while helping you settle into a deeper state of relaxation.
-
Acupressure points traditionally associated with labor preparation are incorporated into your massage. These acupressure points are mostly in the low legs and feet.
-
Gentle craniosacral techniques can be incorporated to encourage deep relaxation and help quiet the nervous system. Specific sacral holds will also be implemented to encourage the sacrum to release as you prepare for birth.
-
Clary Sage oil is traditionally used during late pregnancy to support the body's preparation for labor and is included as part of this specialized labor preparation massage.
What to Expect During Your Labor Induction Massage
Before your massage, we'll talk about how you're feeling, how far along you are, and any areas you'd like to focus on. We'll also go over the techniques we'll be using during your session so you know what to expect and can ask any questions before we begin.
You'll be comfortably supported with pregnancy bolsters throughout your massage. We'll use a combination of therapeutic massage, acupressure, and gentle craniosacral techniques, with clary sage essential oil incorporated into the session.
Pressure and techniques are adjusted throughout your massage based on your comfort and individual needs. Whether you need focused work through your hips and low back or simply want time to relax before baby arrives, your session is tailored to you.
Labor Induction Massage Sessions
60-Minute Labor Induction Massage
60-minute sessions are a great option if this is your first prenatal massage or if you're feeling particularly uncomfortable and want to focus on the areas that need the most attention. This session gives us enough time to incorporate labor preparation techniques while addressing areas of tension and discomfort.
90-Minute Labor Induction Massage
90-minute sessions are a great option if you've had prenatal massage before and are looking for more time for full-body relief and support in specific areas. This longer session allows us to work through several areas of tension while incorporating labor preparation techniques throughout your massage.

Absolutely. Massage can be especially beneficial during early labor, helping you relax, release tension, and stay comfortable as your body works through contractions. If your contractions become regular and are about 5 minutes apart, contact your birth provider for guidance about whether it's a good time to come in. If your provider has given you different instructions, follow their recommendations.
-
You can still receive a labor induction massage after your due date, as long as you're cleared to do so by your prenatal care provider. Your session can provide targeted massage, acupressure, and relaxation during this final stretch.
